Ok I get what you’re saying
There’s a difference between, “why is this thing so ubiquitous” and “people pretend to like this”.
No one is pretending to like Mickey.
They just simply don’t talk about him.
Exactly
just as weird as thinking people are pretending to like ESB
Yeah. Reservoir Dogs aged like milk but people still look at it with rose-colored lens
Reservoir Dogs is still dope
Yeah the majority of this section and A24
People anticipate A24 s***, but they do not get universal praise all the time.
A lot of people ain't f*** with Men or Lamb. At least for the general public.
Both of the shows I mentioned are DC animated shows, yeah. Batman Beyond is a Batman take on the anime wave of the early 2000s and Justice League Unlimited is just great story telling with your expanded JL cast
JLU is goated
Do you think there's certain creators/creations that people just like because they're supposed to?
I think that's a dumb way to look at things but the closest I've come is Out 1: Noli Me Tangere, it's intolerable but I think investing 13 hours into something makes people want it to be a work of significance
Winter Soldier is just a mediocre Jason Bourne movie with a superhero DLC skin over it
loooooooooool

one billion percent. most film snobs follow that rule.
I see film bros on YouTube sucking Lovecrafts d***. And in my head I KNOW they haven't actually read his s*** and are regurgitating s*** some s*** on a forum from someone who kinda read 1 of his stories

yes

The only reason I didn’t say Spider-Man 2 is because I love it but…yeah
Ralph Fiennes is pretty terrible as Voldemort
Fr man is not remotely scary. Writers & directors failed him badly.

last of us
Fr man is not remotely scary. Writers & directors failed him badly.
I'm sure his choices as an actor also played a part in it.
I'm hoping they fix this aspect with the HBO series
Severance is a very good show, but overhyped because it’s one of those shows where a white guy can self insert and feel like the show is better than it actually is.
The same for Masters of None. It’s an easy self insert for socially awkward, borderline loser men
