Fargo season 2 may be the best season of tv I’ve ever watched, nothing’s topped it since.

Star Wars fans are some of the worst kind of people. Comic book and anime fans aren't too far from them either.

Everyone talks s*** about the final season of GoT, but it was s*** well before that.

The S4 finale is when D&D broke the show. Until that point, the plot moved because of the characters actions. The scene with Tyrion and Jamie and then Tywin was when the writers switched it up and the characters acted just to advance the plot.

Let’s go back to the scene I’m talking about. Not to be a “well in the books” guy, but well in the books the ending of Jamie’s conversations is different. Remember the story Tyrion tells about how he married someone and Tywin tells him she was a w**** that Tywin paid for him and Tywin had all his men rape her? Well her name was Tysha. When Jamie sets Tyrion free Jamie confesses to Tyrion that Tysha wasn’t a w****. Tywin lied about it all, she really did love a Tyrion and Tywin had his men rape her. So Tyrion has gone through his whole life thinking he’s never been loved. Thinking that no one could love an ugly dwarf like him. But he did have it, and his father not only took that away but had the only woman he ever loved raped. Tyrion, in a rage, goes up to murder his father against all odds. He sees Shae and in a fit of rage kills her and then finds Tywin and kills him as he does in the show. Very powerful scene, it also makes sense.

But how’s it happen in the show? Tyrion thanks Jamie for saving his life, and then wipes his ass with the gesture. Jamie never confesses so the reason for Tyrion to go up stairs isn’t there. Why does he go up there? To say “hey father that sentenced me to death just wanted to say bye.” Well that doesn’t make sense. He doesn’t go up there to kill him, because Tywin would kick his f***ing ass. He just inexplicably goes up the stairs. Then he sees Shae, and Shae tries to kill Tyrion. Tyrion now acts in self defense, where in the book just seeing her pisses him off, but Shae is actually forced to betray Tyrion by Cersei. Tyrion can’t be a bad guy in the show so they have Shae attack first. Then he picks up the crossbow and kills Tyrion on the s***ter.

Tyrion only goes up stairs to advance the plot, the cause and effect aspect of character actions is no longer the reason the plot advances. And from here on out the cause and effect plot advancement is gone, and it’s seen from here on out. This was when everyone should have realized the writers were going to f*** it up. No one listened to me though. There’s a lot more instances of inexplicable character actions to advance the plot from here on out, and people just excuse it thinking there will be some pay off. But there’s no pay off. There’s only hack writing.

I know style isn't everything but recent films feel very same-ey. Predictable writing, reused camera angles and movements, etc. Not saying contemporary cinema is bad, just it feels like i'm watching the same movie over and over with some parts moved around here and there

obviously there are exceptions but still

Jesse without Walt is just an uninteresting character, that's just a fact

in El Camino he’s still suffering from the consequences of Walt’s actions.

The movie’s whole message is about going through your ptsd and trauma and coming out the other side
    to come out better.

I guess i’m just confused where the hate is coming from? Jesse is very much a character forever attached to Walter White

i stopped watching mid season three when it started to take a life of its own separate from the books. I knew it was headed for a course of sensationalism,

2001 is a great background movie, and i appreciate the achievement but s*** it drags so much

    This

I luv Kubrick but I can't like at a movie that features a thingy spinning for 3 minutes straight, cut to some talking, then feature another thingy rotates for 2 minutes.
