Kick Push is one of Lupe's most iconic songs. But in reality for Lu it is only a good song. Nothing special.

Its not about him. He made if for a friend in a skater's shop he promised when he makes it big.

It's classic story telling. But only at a bacis level for Lu.

The best is flames tho. That intro. Soundtrackk did his thing.

I think its in the bottom of Lupe songs for me. Not that it is rubbish. Just not really why i actually like Lupe.

Daydream is far superior to me. But i understand Kick Push was like his first song to stardom.

Its a good song in retrospect, but to be honest it's definitely not the song that got me into Lupe

There aren't that many people that know Lu past his hits/singles.

So yeah I'm with you when you say you hate mentioning that you like Lupe to others because you already know what the response is going to be even though you know that he so much gems.

Tbh everyone I ask irl knew Lupe from like Daydreaming or Show Goes on, tbh I don’t even remember kick push being played on the mainstream radio back then (maybe cuz I was like 7 years old then). It’s a decent song overall, but I’m slowly growing out of it tbh

But it doesnt paint who Lupe is.

A lot of people think he was a skate boarder and that. It was actually his friend he was talking about in the song.

Lupe was more of a martial artist, anime watching and a street dude. The PR from this song is a bit off imo.

Im just saying this song is the go-to reference song for people who only heard of Lupe Fiasco. And it does not fully represent what he is about skill and story wise.

It is only a good song from him. Not him actually him casually in his bag.

Kick push 2 is the better song yeah.
