same could be said for 3 and 4
actually i think i like 3 controls best aside from V. hope the 3 remake has the same controls as V

Huge red flag if you played it at any point after like 2016, let alone still today
the worst thing about the console wars was people pretending like playstation studios actually made great exclusives just to stick it to xbox so now we are stuck getting s*** like wolverine and ghost of yotei
from PS4 to PS5 I can probably count the # of great exclusives published by sony on one hand
This is Microsoft's fault. Sony don't have competition anymore (Nintendo exclusives a different market) so they don't have to try as hard
Think we still have time for a TLOU/GoW level PS5 exclusive before the generation ends
Microsoft is s***ting the bed 100% but that doesn’t necessitate acting like formulaic games are the coming of Christ

Most Sony exclusives aren't bad. Just as you said formulaic and slightly overrated
Uncharted 4 and GoW deserve the praise they got imo. Those are excellent games
Spiderman, HZD fall into the overrated category because of subpar plot, basic open world structure. But the gameplay is still fun. These games are like 7/10. Ghost of Tsushima is a tier above those 2, I'd give it like 8/10
And it's not like people praise whatever Sony delivers. People were saying Days Gone was bad, Spiderman 2 got praise from critics but the public reception was slightly harsher
People don't really hate ubisoft open worlds, or at least they don't seem to hate them by how they talk about open world design. "Empty map", "lack of content" are common criticisms that some open world games get, and the issues seems to be that these game don't fill every cm of their world with something to do, which guess what, is Ubisoft game design and what they usually get criticized for, so i find it really funny (and pretty sad for Ubisoft).
Those empty spaces are needed to make the world more believable, create negative space between the content as not to get overwhelmed and to build hype for the next point of interest, and creates a moment for players to think about the next destination. Its the difference between the open world feeling like disneyland and an actual real world.
Shadow of the colossus and death stranding live and die by negative space and its what makes these games masterpieces

I also believe this is why people don't like open world games. They feel that their size is an obstacle to content because they have a craving for content, its a dopamine rush that gets slowed down by all that negative space and It slowly builds frustration in those type of players, and i just find it sad

It's exactly why I think a game like Elden Ring is good, but a pretty bad open world. It's beautiful and nice to explore, but it really is just a backdrop to the enemies and bosses.
You're not gonna find just people roaming. Maybe even engaging with the plethora of enemies in the game.
There's not really any "towns". It's just a big open space to kill things.
Also, the illusion of the open world gives you the impression you'll be able to do many things because of precedent. As you said, just busy s*** to do.
But without it a game would feel lifeless.
Funny enough I haven't played any single Assassins Creed since 1 and 2 , so I don't even know what their real open worlds are like, I should try one of them.
Just based on the money and talent Rockstar has, I honestly have no doubt that the interactions between NPCS and player will be unlike anything we've seen. It will be the game of life for years.
Once online drops, goodbye human interaction.

It's a 5/10 at best yet I have a love-hate relationship wit it...

Yeah, cant blame people for feeling that way cause fromsoft didnt utilize the open world to the fullest extent until Shadow of the erdtree which imo is one of the most engaging because of how they use that negative space. They learned a lot.
But i don't think gta will really change anything, at least going by rockstar's gta output in the last 15 years. Long gone are the days they would innovate the open world genre. Gta 5 was very disappointing personally because it was a by the numbers gta game with the only difference being a three playable character story that at the end of the day, besides giving us 3 different plots didnt really change anything gameplay wise

Is GTA V worth replaying in 2026? I played it last year for the first time but now I was considering of purchasing the Steam version. That's when I heard that R* disabled the text chat in the Enhanced version, like
But yeah, was planning on purchasing it and then diving into the online component after replaying the campaign
Story based games suck d***. Gameplay focused >>
Persona 4 is NyQuil in video game format
MW2 is the greatest multiplayer shooter of all time
Ubisoft is worse than EA
Counter Strike > mw2

Definitely worth replaying it, it's a great game and the hate on here is corny
In retrospect this was the last hurrah of FPS games. Incredible gameplay (balanced and even asymmetric gameplay), concepts and innovation, map design. Didn’t involve attempts to constantly drain money (battlepasses, skins), didn’t chase fads, loads of cosmetic unlockables you had to earn. Even had a memorable single player the internet still raves about.
Honestly just about a flawless game before Fortnite changed everything.

I haven't touched it post summer 2015 but if it supported cross platform play I'm sure way more people would've kept playing it
Thank god for cross platform multiplayer in games
mgs 2 controls are horrible and directly affected my enjoyment of the game
Couldn't finish it for that reason
