I genuinely don’t understand how someone can enjoy platformers as an adult. I don’t even say this disparagingly. Platformers are just the same type of boring as watching kids movies with your younger family members
New ones yes I could see that
But old school ones like Super Nintendo super Mario and donkey Kong country are immortal, of crash trilogy too
I understand, I liked it a lot but it’s a completely different experience from the old school games in every way
Tekken peaked at tekken tag 2
Everything after caters to button mashing dorks that just want cool stuff to happen when they mash random buttons

Hard ones are incredible but Astro Boy was fire tho
My concern with Control Resonant. There were issues raised concerning the uneven balance of having different ways to dispatch enemies but also them being damage sponges
Yeah they said bosses Spongey which concerns me but no game I want til phantom blade zero
not a take but i get why some oldheads are obsessed by arcade games
No bullshit. Straight gameplay probably.
the standards for writing in jrpgs are so low even the classics are written worse than a colleen hoover book
Gen 3 pokemon kinda ass
definitely my least favorite out of the first 4 gens, something about the vibe especially in the early game is off to me
Gamers “ favorite “ games list has gotten so generic

From Software make the same game everytime
Bloodborne Dark souls series and elden ring are all different to me and I dont even love their games like that

Don't get the obsession with roguelikes in recent years. Success in these games depends on luck/RNG a lot more than player skill. All you need is that one run where the game blesses you with great resources and you can finish the game. Playing the same levels over and over until you get this isn't really appealing imo
?
People not having favorite games that are from early 2000s or beyond is baffling because people have a case of recency bias or not seeing the foundation blocks of games that got us here.
its like if I said my favorite stealth game is hitman recent trilogy when it took blood money to even get here
chaos theory and so many other games that these modern games learn from is part of what i am getting at. Many of which people never played the games that got the current "top list " to where they are now in the first place

Rogue likes, extraction shooters and genres like that have to be experimented with for new design elements to be learned but yeah i get you they are not long term genres for me

What if people prefer the newer games which have had time to iterate?
Do I have to think NES Mario is better than Wonder just because it laid the foundation
