Just back from the theatre, f***ing incredible horror movie. For a gore fest horror this is a 9/10, movie didn't let you breathe hardly ever, and it's one of the most chaotic movies I've ever seen, chaotic is the perfect word for it. That's my immediate reaction anyway. The camera work was amazing and the sound in the theatre sounded like it was coming from inside the room, I genuinely thought the guy at the end of my isle was screaming at one point.

I believe it’s pretty helpful. From what I’ve seen of released images, the first scene of Rise and the last scene of Rise are connective tissue.

This was phenomenal, probably my new favorite. Just constant ever escalating madness, manages to be both the meanest Evil Dead while still being the funniest of its modern era. Can't wait to watch it over and over again.

after rewatching 2013 last night which was comically reverent to the first two movies, I appreciated that they left it at a wink and went for something more relevant to this movie. The construction sounds at the funeral were so funny

Starting off with the technicals, the camera work and blocking in use here is fantastic. The one shots and the over heads used were top notch. It really worked well with how the movie was paced and edited. Great example of knowing how to shoot with the script and vision you have. Sound excellent Dolby recommended. It was very new French. Color palette and the look of the characters screams the influence.

It was very evil dead. Readies were largely great. the father Edgar I’m a little iffy on. He was a good vehicle for not only physical intimidation but also emotional intimidation with the words he said to the other characters. That part was good, just wish a little more was done with him. Susan, the mom, fantastic in the bathroom. The bag scene over the tub might be my favorite. Thya, will’s gf, was great too. Pure deadite with the talking. Grandmother was fine mostly. The ear scene was brutal. Had people squirming in the theater.
