I’m ngl this looks awful. The entire movie premise seems to be based around poverty— which isn’t inherently bad— but every scene shown in the trailer seems to be just an over the top experience in poverty. What is the plot here? SZA and KeKe flip food stamps until they reach financial freedom? Is there going to be an epic fight battle at a swap meet too?
Katt looks like he’ll steal the show. KeKe always on point. SZA can’t act, not for no reason she barely speaks in the trailer.
The real plot should be them doing a rent strike. But nah they gotta do whatever they can to appease master Landlord. This s*** CIA opp damn near. Can’t even find any info on the director lol
Friday >>> Sorry To Bother You >>> hell even Lottery Ticket >>>>> compared to how this black movie tackling poverty

Impression I got watching the trailer . Looks like something my mom would really like
I really liked this, and honestly missed this kind of buddy comedy. Feels so nostalgic in the midst of the streaming era where every comedy feels the exact same. This felt like a fun throwback to the type id see playing on tv in the afternoon. Friday is a pretty clear inspiration, but thats not a negative at all. Loved Keke & SZA’s chemistry. Only thing I’ll say is it’s pretty damn cliched, and feels like the jokes could’ve hit way harder but when they do hit, it’s very funny. Like tumbleweave… s\*\*\* was making me laugh even as I was leaving the theater

Oof
it’s not bad
I thought it was just alright, had some laughs but a lot of the smaller jokes fell flat in my theater
