well the truth is.. if white people aren't in the movie, a lot of people (of all races) won't go see it. Now east asians have figured out a way to do big numbers AND win awards but we as black people are not in that renaissance right now

The Woman King was pretty good. Should have performed better, tbh. Backlash was over-the-top given the historical inaccuracies of most movies that are released.

yea backlash was def outlandish and showed another struggle when it comes to making black film, everything surrounding the film is heightened.

That backlash made me side eye, given the amount of leeway given to historically inaccurate films starring actors of a blue-eyed persuasion

Pretty confident Coogler isn't just making a simple straight foward movie about Vampires killing racist. There is definitely enough room for world-building to explore s*** like race, eugenics, and social class in the world of vampirism.
