Al being top 10 is accurate

    4 octave range vs 2

You might like how Elvis sounds but factually Jackson had the better, more expansive voice.

She's good but not 80 spots higher than MJ good that's the problem. If this list is unbiased she's not a top 10 if we're just going by singing

The problem is MJ’s placement not Beyoncé

Michael Jackson at #86 and Ariana Grande at #43 lmao

Yeah dude octave range is the entire debate

    Beefheart tops MJ then

    Patsy Cline yes

She’s not just good she’s phenomenal

Beyoncé is a vocal machine with as much power and range and versatility as anyone who has mattered ever

Nothing wrong with anyone saying she is a top 10 legendary vocalist all time y’all need to stop

The MJ placement is the problem not the Beyoncé placement

MJ should be way higher but not higher than B vocally, he had hella control and versatility and a beautiful falsetto but no wear near as much range or power as B

Well, if you’re discussing the best singers, it plays a part. Best to how some clown RS writer thinks or actually on a technical level?

MJ is an elite rated vocalist, on all metrics. Range, ability, all of it. Is this a list on how they sound or the factual technical ability list?

The same can’t be said for the majority of those higher, especially the white rockstars whose music we really “can’t enjoy knowing what we know”.

It’s not even worth debating because RS is full of s*** and heaven forbid Jackson actually gets any praise for his easily demonstrable abilities. I don’t think he should be #1, but the position is a joke and anyone who doesn’t have their head up their ass would know it.

Doesn’t Rolling Stone have connections with Roc Nation

Penske media group aka the whitest piece of s*** going. They pummelled a fortune into promoting Leaving Neverhappened & as such have to include and degrade MJ in as many lists and articles as they can.

You can’t have the black man overtake and then own the white groups with a genius stroke of business. MJ still pays for that to this day.

    Unforgivable

    Kurt Cobain @ #36

Even Kurt himself admitted when he was alive that he was an awful singer/performer

I’d say he deserves a spot on the list (the same kind of way that bob dylan, mick jagger, lou reed do) but yeah that’s wayyy too high

@KingOfPop is known for going hard as hell for his idol yes, but you’re not about to gaslight him on this

Michael was doing things at 12 that Elvis couldn’t have done on his best day

Miguel missing on the list makes it irrelevant. he's the best male voice of the last decade

also why tf Lana del Rey is here?? she can't sing live at all

    Maxwell is missing too

  • Jan 2, 2023

Celine Dion isn’t even on this mf smh
