Can my thread limit be lifted for just one thread? I’m trying to post a really good music thread and I had to delete it the first time, then when I made a better version of it I got the “please wait until later to make another thread” notification

@team maybe using asterisks to hold and italicize isn’t the best idea, esp when you wanna quote an article where a word is censored and it messes up the formatting for the rest of the post. maybe backslash+asterisk could be the opener and asterisk+backslash could be the closer.

an example of why just having the site look for asterisks doesn’t work: if you quote a website where someone says “fucking”, but everything but the first and last letters are censored, it looks like this: f*****g. that doesn’t look like “fucking” is censored.

this isn’t a hard “this is definitely the way it should be”, but i think it is something that should definitely be considered for changing

censoring words is the only time i can think of on this site where asterisks are meant to be seen when used, since i don’t think anyone’s multiplying numbers on here or writing in clauses as footnotes

i’m like 95% in agreement with your solution, but what about if someone wants to bold or italicize a certain part of a word? they just gotta take the L and put spaces?
