I love what Kanye does with this. Fun collecting them and finding the differences, think I have bout 10 TLOP versions now. And with JIK you get 10 downloads of updates, pretty cool and kind of feels like a “subscription album,” you get the merch then get to hear the record for however long 10 updates takes, then buy more merch or just the CD again. Another idea- what about an album/song that changes every listen, that would be sick. This album stuff is great for artists too, they both make some extra cash off the sales and get to have the album fresh in the fans’ minds with multiple “drops” of the same album.

theres definitely sporadic cases where it would be dope to see an album recieve tweaks and updates though

the only time i think i would be ok with it is if the artist actually released a completed and quality piece of work first. then started tweaking it. but when we get something like jik which just sounds rushed and incomplete the updates feel wack as hell

i'd like to see an artist upload their album from start to finish, starting from a single melody of a single song, and updating it every day until some final announced date where the album is 'finished'

that would be pretty cool imo

I think it’s a poor excuse for laziness

It was a cool concept for Pablo but now he’s using it to rush

Kanye is the Bethesda of the rap game. Albums f***ed up on release, and fixes them later to make them more tolerable.

It’s f***ing stupid and is a negative direction for music to head in

why do you have like 10 versions of TLOP? there’s only the initially released album and two updates, but those two updates changed half the tracklist each time, separate halves of the tracklist. so really, there’s only the original and one updated version. plus the leaks, but those should just be in a leak comp, nothing official about them

it was pretty interesting at first but, now, it's simply annoying. take your time kings & queens

Literally only worked for TLOP, its just a cop out now
