I work in a luxury retail shopping center. We got a UPS guy that handles the stores, this man has EVERY woman working in the area swooning over him. My man is living the life, and to know he’s making $170k? A legend I might just have to ask him if he’s aware of any openings.
Lol you gotta last a year in the factory sweatshop to even dream of becoming a driver

seems like less grinding than going 6 years for a bs and ms for less pay
Less stressful than what I do now. Sign me up lmao
driving all day sounds horrendously stressful to me lol

The fact that my job allows for remote work makes it worth it, I think most people forget that some jobs with low requirements but high pay require you to go out every single day

I mean it depends on the location. Could be a year could be 10

Yup. They make you start at the bottom just like any other union job. They want people with experience and who are already union members. If you survive as a package handler you can be a delivery driver which means you will work through every single holiday non-stop.
To me their pay is just fair. I believe the contract is for long haul drivers from what I read and if you compare that to any other truck drivers they earn just as much. @SlicedBread
I love the joke, but I hope more people don't think unions are gonna make your Joe smoe act like this.
A lot of comments I've seen online where people thought ups union was compaling and asking for too much
Also the contract says benefits included. Base salary is like 90k which is still good but if I count in all of my benefits maxed out I'm north of 100k too. Unions are really good at negotiating benefits but not everyone is taking full advantage of them. Yeah if you max out all your benefits you "earn" up to 170k but you gotta know how to max them out and most people don't want to because it involves matching contributions and switching your plans (health, dental, eyes, auto, phone, cable, Internet, travel, home, utility, etc) to union negotiated ones which most people find unnecessarily overpriced. Most people feel like it's chipping off their base salary and that they can find better value outside of what unions have negotiated or well at least I do.
