if you have nukes then you don't need to use them, its a defensive weapon
So then just lie about having them
Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world and has been on America’s nerves for decades. Still kicking it tho
I think you could imagine that US aggression towards Venezuela would decrease significantly if they had nukes.
Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Lebanon's Iran-allied Hezbollah movement, said during a speech Sunday that only U.S. military assets, not U.S. civilians, should be targeted in retaliatory attacks for the killing of top Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani, according to the Washington Post.

I was just thinking this. if Iran or affiliates go for American citizens, it will cause us to want to fight
Yeah, but honestly Iran and hezbollah are in general much more admirable than groups like al qaeda and isis. They genuinely act out of resistance towards imperialism rather than a belief in a worldwide autocracy

I can imagine that yeah. But I can also imagine the US trying way harder to forment a coup in North Korea if the government wasn’t so on lock

They act out of resistance towards imperialism but that shouldn't be triumphed over the safety of their own people.
they have crippling sanctions on them that are starving venezuelans
The sanctions against actual imports and exports didn’t start until the crisis was well under way. Before then only certain individuals were sanctioned, and even then Venezuela was (and is) free to trade with most other countries

So you can see why countries would feel pressured to get nukes right?
There would never have been a coup attempt in Venezuela if Maduro had his finger on the red button.
How many nukes would it take to realistically demolish the US?
Not many at all
Not many at all
We dropped 2 nuclear weapons on Japan, a way smaller country, and people were still living there immediately after

nobody is nuking anybody

Odds are if there were a coup attempt, Maduro wouldn’t try to use nuclear weapons to get himself out of it. I mean he may blame America but I’m not sure he’d be willing to throw the world away, knowing any nuclear strike wouldn’t be supported by most of his allies. I think what keeps North Korea out of reach besides the weapons is how strict the government maintains itself

The strictness of its government certainly helps, but there has never been a US-backed coup in any country with nuclear capabilities
I never understood nukes tbh. Growing up they use to scare us telling us one is enough to make a place uninhabitable. But we dropped 2 and it’s still habitable. And they doing tours through Chernobyl now. Like I thought that place was gonna be crazy radioactive for thousands of years, they literally offer you dinner there. Idk

Nuclear weapons now are WAY more powerful now than in 1945. Even aside from ground zeros, the fallout in surrounding areas could cover very large portions of land making it uninhabitable, further destroying the ecosystem and inciting famine, further violence and such

What makes you think their attitude has changed? They've always hated the US and have had "death to America" as their slogan ever since the birth of the revolution.

Yeah but those are specific places that faced much lower scale weapons than we have now. If there were a nuclear assault in America, most people would immediately die, and those who didn’t will wish they did

Yeah our s*** now probably crazy. That Chernobyl s*** still odd though 🧐
As terrible as nuclear weapons are, the truth is they’ve forced the major world leaders to act more responsibly than before. We might be at WW5 by now if otherwise
Yeah our s*** now probably crazy. That Chernobyl s*** still odd though 🧐
Yeah I’m not educated enough on that but I’m pretty sure the area was uninhabitable for a minute and the people on site suffered from numerous diseases as a result. But stuff like Chernobyl is now very unlikely to reoccur because people have learned to be much more careful when dealing with nuclear power
