This isnt even controversial though. This is common knowledge in psychology. Doesnt mean they are normalizing it.

The only problem I see is the citation of that shady organization inside the article. But the tweets don't seem too wild tbh. Although the first tweet is sus because I reckon life events probably can cause pedophilia as well, to say it is 100% inborn ignores all the childhood abuse a lot of them went through before becoming abusers themselves.

I support rehabilitation for people with the mental disorder and harm prevention.

But when it's being pushed (with blatant distortions of fact) by someone with ties to an organization with a history of s*** like this:

Pedophiles are adults. It is possible for an older child/teenager to abuse a younger one, that would also be child abuse, but wouldn't count as pedophilia.

There are also adult perpetrators who are more interested in the abuse of power towards children than in the children themselves. Those would also not be pedophiles in a strict sense, but they would absolutely be child molesters.

The tweets are not so bad, but you are right, the article itself is worse. My suspicion is that they want to make pedophilia the next letter in LGBT - the guy you quote supports this - and claiming that pedophilia is 100% inborn (which is what some people also claim about homosexuality) is the first step to do so. Protasia or whatever they are called are weirdos, as are most of these "advocates".

I just think it is possible for some guys to be really sick in the head, possibly from being molested themselves, who deserve a fair shot at therapy without being ostracized. So to separate pedophilia as a mental illness from child molestation allows that destigmatization to occur. The problem comes when this destigmatization leads to normalization, here I agree with you - pedophilia is not just another sexual orientation, it is a mental illness that needs to be cured. Children cannot consent, and adults who are attracted to them are sexual deviants. I don't accept for one bit that this is in any way comparable to hetero- or homosexuality.

Yeah, treatment and therapy could definitely be solutions. Society can try to treat them while also protecting children.

But Prostasia, given their track record, seems to be trying to manipulate the discourse and turn it into some other s***. Like, "Oh, they can't help it. Society should embrace them"

They're sus but not idiots. They know they're not going to get what they want by saying what's actually on their minds.
