That's true, but Weeknd has also made statements about "everyone being Weeknd 2.0" and him believing bigger artists took his release style in the past so I don't blame anyone for thinking it was shady. He also admitted he was upset about it to some degree.

My thing is I dont want it to be misconstrued as Usher purposely biting Weeknd the way a Rapper might use a flow that got popular. The Producer was inspired by Weeknd and Usher and the writers for Climax wrote a song over that in a way that it was something different than what Weeknd would've done in HOB era.

Weeknd brought this all on himself with his past remarks. People dont like you telling everyone that everyone bit your style, you have to let people come to that on their own or they'll fight you every step of the way.

Let's talk about how I literally told yall what was up before Diplo came out and yall didn't listen:

Diplo produced the beat using the instrumentation of other people, one of them being Ariel's synths and keyboards.

It took 2 months to make that beat for Climax, which probably means Diplo was working on the music with Ariel and the rest of the personnel, but he might've just put all the pieces together into a final product.

It could be true that Ariels synths werent purposely done in a Weeknd sound but Diplo's final product was done to replicate a Weeknd sound.

Either way Usher didnt say "give me a Weeknd type beat" and ran with it to ride the trend and the songwriting is something Weeknd wouldnt have done so the slight influence it did have doesn't really matter.

If it were Usher blatantly biting Weeknds style hed be deserving of all the slander.

Diplo could've given Usher any type of beat and Usher would've wrote to it if it was good enough.
