I just realized, Christmas is on a Friday this year. What if he gives us a Christmas present by dropping the album then?

Definitely possible and that would be dope.
Do you think hes avoid dropping the album name and tracklist because hes still working on it? Or you think hes just trying to keep it under wraps?
I thought I read somewhere that the album was done though..

When Bad Habits dropped in one interview he said he was just about done with it. I know B Cox said they were almost done back in the spring too. I think at this point he's just keeping it under wraps. JD said they're waiting on the right time to release it so it can sell well and really pop off. They're trying to make a moment with this album and I hope they succeed.

Yea it sucks that the sales for an album from someone of Urshers caliber just wont be what they used to be because of the way the industry is now. Hopefully the album does well based off not just marketing but the fact that he hasnt released a full LP since 2016 and old fans will anxious as well has hopefully new ones that jumped on the bandwagon.
But man its ALL gonna come down to marketing and the way they push it. We need singles. We need videos for those singles. We need interviews discussing the project, and honestly even though he doesn't wanna call it Confessions 2 and probably shouldn't, I think it was definitely help push more units. Cant wait to see how it all plays out. I'm rooting for him for sure
Since I couldn't find one on here, I decided to make one myself.

Damn my previous post just made me realize H2L was my favorite album of 2016.
Thats mind boggling. I know it isn't popular opinion but H2L was so good man. Tell Me is top 5 Usher
But this is crazy because so many other of my favorites dropped classics that year:
Bruno - 24k magic
Weeknd - Starboy
Joe - My Name is Joe Thomas (which no one on ktt knows exists or appreciates lmao)
Damn 2016 was poppin who did I miss?

2016 was a YEAR. Rihanna, Beyonce, Britney, Alicia, Bruno, Usher, Weeknd, Kendrick, Drake... everybody dropped. 2016 was the year where if you didn't drop and album - even if it flopped - you missed out.
And H2L is a great album. Bump, Let Me, No Limit, Missin U, Need U, Tell Me, FWM, Crash, and Rivals are all solid. I remember the album got great reviews from critics. Idk how exactly I'd rank all his albums, but H2L is nowhere near the bottom.

Rank them because it is near the bottom. It’s no shots at the project, his discog is just too strong.
Here’s my list:
1. Confessions
2. 8701
3. My Way
4. Here I Stand
5. Raymond V Raymond
6. Looking 4 Myself
7. Hard II Love
8. Usher
Lmao how I forget Views lol
But I dont remember what Kenny dropped in 2016. I think Damn came out in 2017 right? And TPAB 2015 if not mistaken.
Not really into Bey and Britney like that but I dont doubt those projects were good if literally everyone else struck gold that year. Yea it was a good year to be a music fan for sure.

"But man its ALL gonna come down to marketing and the way they push it."
!!!!!
I've been saying, he's known to take long breaks between albums, but he needs to use those breaks to his advantage. Things like "R&B megastar Usher announces first album in 4 years", "R&B legend Usher finally announces long-awaited and highly anticipated album '____'" would make it seem like it's a huge deal and will have people excited for his return.
I was talking to another fan who said he could easily have a comeback cuz he's Usher, a huge A-list star. They said he could pull a Mariah like comeback. I said he can, but for that to happen, it's gonna take comeback singles. Comeback visuals. Comeback marketing and branding. Comeback hype. He's been getting a lot more hype than normal this year, idk what happened and why but it feels like that. Never would I have EVER thought Usher and his catalog would go trending every time a Verzuz battle happens. He's been getting so much love this year and I've noticed he still has a large fanbase. He just needs to USE it. He has that cross generational appeal, and has expanded his younger fanbase by doing collabs with younger artists in recent years. Now that he has that connection and is getting all this love, he needs to capitalize off it and come all the way through.
I feel like this album is going to be one of his best. I just hope he and his team market it the best they can and promote like crazy so we don't look back at this era saying "it deserved more". No one wants to have to say that lol

8. Usher
You're right. It did end up close to the bottom lol. I have RvR second to last cuz while it is his most versatile and upbeat album, it doesn't hold up as a complete body of work like his other adult albums do imo. I think it's a good thing his first is his worst though. Cus even that album was solid.
To each their own, but i think you wylin’ with H2L over RvR.

"After a 4 year hiatus, Rnb legend Usher announces magnum opus Confessions sequel "Revelations"
That would get folks interested for sure.
Lol a guy can dream but I think that would be a dope title that is not on the hook for being called Confessions 2 but at the same time in the same vein as its subject matter so it can still be a sequel of sorts

Revelations is the perfect title. I stan a Handsome Bachelor
lol
I think as long as people know it's the sequel to Confessions it'll get some big hype. Even if it's not called Confessions 2, a title that continues that theme of revealing secrets would work.

I may have to relisten, but you are right. RvR had better individual tracks than H2L. I just feel like H2L is a more complete album for some reason. Haven't listened to either in full in a while though.

Now I'm really gonna be awaiting the title reveal lol to see if it ends up being Revelations or something close to it ha.
Also regarding H2L again Its funny also cuz I remember thinking why was it done with a 2 instead of "to"
I wonder if anyone thought that maybe that was supposed to be a sequel to one of his albums but I dont think it was so that always came off kinda weird to me.

if they actually go with Revelations...
Just heard that song he dropped for the new Netflix Jingle Jangle Christmas movie...that s*** lowkey better than both these new singles.

I only listened once, but they sang their hearts out on that one
