Cam Skattebo FanI don't get it. I had infinitely more fun at the AHTD tour than I had at any other show I've been to including all the prior Weeknd shows. Maybe it's because I never really cared to be up close to the artist? Idk but the whole stage setup made for an incredible experience
Exactly. I was at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for both Kanye’s 2nd Donda listening party and Weeknd’s tour and both were amazing experiences. I will never understand the disdain for stadium shows on this website

These are the numbers from the Astroworld tour, his first and only arena tour as a headliner. None of the dates are sold out and look at the gross from those dates. That lets you know how cheap he sold his tickets just to fill up the arenas. And this was at the height of his popularity. What makes anyone think he's anywhere near as popular now as he was back then? Especially now when many people are strapped for cash and with the insane rate of inflation. He's about to be humbled real bad.

I'd like to see him pull it off because it'd be a great look for hip-hop, especially with all these cancelled tours recently. I just know enough to understand that he won't be pulling it off. Even if he sells his tickets for mad cheap.

It really doesn’t, you can make that same argument with Weeknd’s Legend of the Fall Tour and say he couldn’t have done stadiums five years later after that tour, but he did.

For one, he had announced a massive arena tour (which sold out quickly) before his team reassessed and decided to book stadiums instead. The demand was clearly there. That's why he cancelled the arena tour and booked fewer stadium dates instead.
Two, between his last tour in 2018 and when he went on tour in 2022, he scored 3 massive global pop hits and performed at the super bowl, moves that expanded his brand and made a lot of casual listeners interested in seeing him on tour. That also helped with ticket sales.
Travis has neither of those things. The last thing the general public remembers about him is the Astroworld Festival tragedy. His many attempts to break back into the mainstream via features haven't really translated in any real way with listeners.
Travis wants to be seen as a massive artist (and there's nothing wrong with that), but he's the type to do whatever to project the perception of success even if it isn't real (that's why he goes overboard with the bundles s*** and all the branding s***).
Don't get me wrong. I'd absolutely love it if he pulled it off because I'd love to see what he can come up with at a stadium level. I just think he'd have to sell his tickets for pennies and use other tactics to dispose of those tickets to fill up those stadiums as long as it means people show up and he can feel like he's now a legitimate stadium act.
There's really no rush for these things tbh. Abel went on like 3 arena tours and almost went on a fourth before booking stadium dates. The entire music industry is very different now compared to just a few years ago and that extends into touring. We'll just have to wait and see what happens, I guess. I wish him all the best.

That’s fair. But like you said, ticket prices will for sure be low and it won’t be more than 10-15 dates total in North America. With that combination, he can definitely pull it off
