like its actually scary how eerily similar it feels to recent events even beyond scenes of protest

I need to rewatch this. Thanks
Watched it recently after about 12 years. That one scene the detective goes iraq, kurdistan, syria before and after
Alan Moore is connected to biblical demons that tell him about the future
You ain’t lying.
There’s a few shortcomings from my view but the overall criticisms the film makes are so apt

Talking about viruses, totalitarian governments, curfews
legendary graphic novel
alan moore goat for getting that kind of commentary in his work for graphic novel stuff
Solid film adaption too, even if he hates all the films of his work

if you ever get a chance read the graphic novel, the guy who made v for vendetta and watchmen really hates the film adaptions to the point i'm pretty sure he wouldn't even take money for them. the graphic novels are pretty legendary in their own right, and i'm not into that kind of thing like that usually
i do like the v for vendetta film tho, i didn't like the watchmen one outside of some of the visuals, it seemed to manage to be faithful and miss the point at the same time which was odd to me

The reason it feels so familiar is human society never changes and were f***ing animals who repeat the same mistakes

history repeats itself and we dont give a f*** till tragedy hits our homes
I was watching Dawn of the Planet of Apes and the first few minutes talking about everybody dying from a disease and quarantine was kinda scary
rewatching soon
They’re right lol
You just think we're some animals with no future huh
You just think we're some animals with no future huh
Nah I wouldn’t limit it to that but our self-destructiveness definitely makes it feel that way more often than it should
I just agreed with the point that: these themes in the movie are still just as relevant today, and further back in history too because we end up repeating the same mistakes and end up the worse for it
