i promise it has a purpose. If you were gonna invest in a artists next album and he said he was gonna release by __ date, what reasons would you understand for them not releasing?

Obviously if the artist is facing some serious personal issues like the ones you mentioned than I'd have no reason to be angry. I dont think that's the case for Carti tho. He just realised the response to @meh and the Pain 1993 verse wasn't that hot and probably scrapped or reworked the while thing. BTW the only date he gave us was the "MoNdAy" tweet.

The big problem is these new artists are trained to believe they have to be like Wayne and Gucci, spitting track after track freestyled, putting albums together in days. Yet, because of that, quality slips and they become unsure of themselves.

how do they start realizing they dont have to make a song in 30 mins and can take a lot longer? I remember the lyor cohen thug interview where he was getting mad at thug for making a really cool hook and then just throwing the song away

The longer they wait the worst its gonna be. If you drop an album 1 year after the earlier that was well received people will let you slide but if you make them wait 3 years for some mid. Its over.
