I'm not generally a fan of VW outside of individual songs (Modern Vampires is pretty solid), but they came through on this. Their production is always good but it's in service of some really creative and exciting material this time around.
Im on the second song but this feels so good , like all vampire weekend albums playing at once
They won’t sticky cuz they don’t wanna see some sauced up white boys from the ivy leagues win
I was thinking return to innocence by enigma but maybe theres something closer
Its the drums from back to life by soul II soul but they have been used in a ton of other songs
Such a good track by track interview with Ezra, love listening to artists talk in depth about their new records like this. A lot of times big interviewers rarely talk or ask about the actual music itself, it’s more general/personal interviewing so this is really nice

im gonna say the most controversial thing on here
this album is really good, but everyone saying its their best and comparing it to some of the best albums by rock artists… like its food, but to me, nothing comes close to touching the original 3. maybe it’s just the nostalgia attached, but i kinda got over this album quick and I’d consider myself a hardcore fan
ik rostam punching walls rn after hearing this
Rostam is one of the producers on this album

to me theyve only gotten better...until this one. its really good but I have no real desire to replay it.

he did like one song and i think he only has credits bc its an old ass song
The Surfer might be my favorite, the horns that come in, the outro, I can't get enough of it.
This honestly feels like what the follow up to MVOTC should have been. Absolutely fantastic record!
album growing on me a lot. i feel like i would have loved this more a few years ago. Starts really strong, the last two haven't really clicked for me
almost wish i would have heard this without the singles, would have sounded crazy

I agree with this too. This album feels a bit messy in a way that the original 3 don't. I'm sure it's intentional, but I prefer the simplicity of those early albums. I just don't see myself throwing this on the way I used to with their old albums. Also ezra's vocals don't really hit like they used to
