Vegan diets require additional supplements to keep you healthy.

It's a really hard diet, so that's why most people stick with vegetarian or paleo diets.

S*** is easy though Just remember grain, green, and a bean

I agree except for the vitamin supplement part
what vitamins do u get out of dead meat ?

Ive heard the vitamin deficiency for vegans is a myth, if u eat right u'll get everything u need, im not an expert tho
@plants help us here, do u take vitamins ?

A diet for children must be much more secure than that of an adult's. Calcium, Iron, B12, and Vitamin D are areas where vegan diets may be deficient in, and with younger children these can prove not good for their development.

Unless you're eating foods that are fortified with these, they will not be getting enough. A multivitamin/supplementation is necessary.

i need plants to explain to me if there's actually a feasible vegan diet for children

    cause:

her son ezra died in 2019 from complications caused by malnutrition

clearly this lady isnt gonna figure out

The article says the kid hadn't been fed in a week before he died... a lot more going in that house than just a vegan diet sadly

they gonna dog her and she should be put on the spot for malnutrition, but idk the full story

i can’t say i’m sure she just wanted best for her kids, but u gotta give someone the benefit of the doubt

if she wasn’t working with a doctor on this kind of diet she’s beyond reckless tho and deserves something

Article says the baby was born at home and it is believed he never saw a doctor

the article i shared says the same thing as u:
    eat fortified foods

one of them is nutritional yeast, (vegans love to put it in everything for cheesy flavors)

I really think this "vegan diet is poor" mentality stems from people not knowing what to eat and relying on meat products to get their fix

yeah all im thinking is supplements aren't needed if u eat correctly same way non-vegans don't take iron supplements unless their diet is f***ed up

I never said a vegan diet is poor... but when you're dealing with a child it's much easier and safer to simply supplement potential deficiencies. Especially when you may not have the time to oversee every single meal they may have during the day.

And FYI, fortified foods ARE practically supplements. They're simply more available as they're processed into a food instead of into a tablet or pill.

Omnivore kids are eating fortified foods anyway and take multivitamins too, there’s hardly a difference

No, we must continue this argument for 13 pages before it devolves into socialism vs capitalism.
