I don’t think his career is dead tbh
He’s not a superstar but he still has more of a career than a lot of rappers
Yea I would listen to a new album every time
didn't like more than half the group get exposed as rappers without the p?
Idk haven’t kept up with them in god knows how long
Their fallout was so annoying in real time
Chance woulda did better if he had SAVEMONEY supporting him like Rocky w ASAP tyler w OF kendrick w Black Hippy etc.
Savemoney was something special man.
Especially the Social Experiment
I actually mighta got him confused with Van Jones lmaoooooooo
Lena Waithe just weird to me, one of those "hollywood blacks that they only let in #theroom because he one of them"
She was the one that was making all those weird comments during D'angelo's Verzuz stream (e.g. "smells like cigarettes and freedom")
Being a part of the creation of Queen & Slim (she also explained in a podcast episode of The Read that the infamous WOAT protest scene was a tamir rice reference) is also enough of a demerit for me to never rate her again.
Forgot about the vz comments lmao. Cringey but I dont think she's ever been ill intentioned. Might just be that Thanksgiving ep of Master of None covering up a lot of the bs for me

She also didn't handle the Jason Mitchell allegations on the Chi well at all
Like I said, she just comes off as a weirdo to me.
And have you watched Queen & Slim? That was legit one of the worst movies I've ever seen

Have not
he not making music anymore?
Haven’t watched the interview yet but does Chance go into detail on why he dubbed Vic for the tour?

Damn
nigga pocket watching and made himself depressed
I mean that was a weird choice of Chance to not let dude open knowing even worse if he knew his bro was down bad
But im curious of the timeframe because Vic wasn’t some scrub back then, Kanye Wolves feature a roc nation deal and i personally remember waiting on his rock x drill “traffic” album debut back then that he just abandoned

He woulda have been the proto X before X if he stuck with this sound and had some of the conscious s*** too
Chance and Vic not being 2 of the next big 3 like they was supposed to for a split moment in 2013/2014 to Coloring Book is a hugely understated aspect of how rap turned out after 2016-2018 lol

Vic was never finna be that even tho innanettape is a classic

Briefly he just mentioned that he didn’t really wanna split the spotlight for his big tour (acid rap)

His career is far from dead but in hindsight it’s kinda crazy popularity wise how TBD derailed him. Can never be sure how big he would have gotten even if he followed up coloring book with a good album but, I think it’s fair to say it hurt his trajectory big time.
This is also not saying or implying that he was some massive massive rockstar before the big day! He had a ton to prove still relatively speaking
Really entertaining listen as someone who was obsessed with innanetape and acid rap back then
