People are going to still debate whether or not they can she's likeable or not. Within the show's universe she clearly isn't, and that's OK, if anything it makes for an interesting story, the most unlikeable person in the world vs the hivemind that likes everyone and everything.

one thing that took me out of the latest episode
during that guys james bond casino fantasy, the joined people were acting out the party extras chit chatting WAY out of his eyesight. it felt like they did it just for the sake a cool one take party shot. after he got up and left the table, they all maintained the facade but then went silent and started cleaning up as soon as he left and couldn't see them anymore. why did they keep pretending to do stuff when he couldn't see them at the beginning?
i mentally wrote off like maybe he just told them 'as long as you are in this suite, you are partygoers. but as soon as the poker match is over, you can go back to being the way you are' but when the show has rigid rules, stuff like that jumps out imo

i mean it made sense to me logistically tv show production wise and narratively
they can’t predict mr diabate’s actions and can’t assume he won’t look or go to another room. it would also be noticeable to anyone with functioning senses that half the room is silent and only the visible part of the room is speaking.
it would be very unsettling and i imagine the idea is to buy into the whole facade as much as possible, while still being efficient enough to drop it when he leaves to private chambers

The great irony of the show is how caught up people are with zoisia carol cause it literally mirrors the book . Her writing is whatever best serves Carol

They play along with the party theme roleplay until the party's over (diabate leaving)... is pretty simple
