Yeah this show is getting a little bit more praise than it would’ve if it wasn’t a Gilligan show imo
I think it’s been good so far but I think it isn’t even Apple TV’s best first season of television. Severance is right there
I agree with you that Gilligan's name is hard carrying right now.
But no, on the Severance. Couldn't even finish the first season.

Give it another chance, one of the greatest season finales ever imo
Ngl this was legit pitiful :
Can you blame people hating this show for calling it slow ? They had to even speed up the gif 5X and it’s just her walking for a hug
people in this thread talking about feel the emptiness
Severance great
Pluribus great
Let’s see who can end on the highest note
Loving the Apple TV shows but nothings beating succession. Remember there was in episode with just dialogue and 1 setting and it was the most intense thing I watched

bro they speed it up to make it more funny and is literally a gif... jesus fkin christ the comprehension skills are at an all-time low
i liked the shots but man only the last 20 mins mattered and 2 eps to go
"mattered' in regards to what?

Depends on what you’re trying to get out of the show. Carol spending her time moping around, enjoying the comfort and luxury of America and the hive mind versus the other guy having to migrate to America is a nice juxtaposition. It also highlighted how lonely she was, which is why she reached back out to them
You could say things once or say things three times to add more texture and depth. I’d prefer the depth.
Pretty bad show. Better than the most recent True Detective season tho. So that’s something

what's bad about it?

If they didn’t speed it up the gif would have been a video
what's bad about it?
Uninteresting main character, pointlessly glacial pace, lazy exposition dumps

The sarcasm is what gets me . Like I enjoy watching videos about hidden meaning and foreshadowing about the show but the meaning shouldn’t be so hidden that at first watch it feels near empty
Does this French guy understand that having s***with any of these people effectively makes him pansexual, incestuous and a pedophile? Do they ever delve into that implication of everyone on Earth becoming one consciousness?

she is uninteresting to YOU, which is not a flaw in itself at all. Is not like saying, for example, that Willa from One Battle After Another is a one-dimensional character whose inner world is never explored in the slightest, has almost no character traits, no interests, no goals being shown. Thats's a flaw.
There's no such thing as "pointless pacing", is just not the pacing you're accustomed to nor the type of pacing that stimulates you. A flawed pacing would be, for example, something rushed that makes every payoff feel null; if the show cuts right away to Manousos walking in the jungle and all of the sudden he falls back into that tree, it wouldn't even have 5% of the effect it has after everything we saw him getting through.
And lastly, what exposition you even talking about

What hidden meaning? huhh
I like it more then season 1 of bb and bcs
First season of BCS was literally like 10 dentist appointments

The praise towards better call Saul’s visual story telling got Gillighan ripping bong hits of his own farts

He’s just built different
I do think there’s a scene where Carol tells Laxmi her daughter is also an astronaut and also a highly talented neurosurgeon or some s*** like that
I’m curious what yall consider “pointlessly glacial pace” if not for a show about the world effectively becoming an apocalypse and having no problems, threats, or even s*** to do anymore? Everything does slow down when there isn’t stakes to anything anymore which is evidenced more than in any of the other eps in last weeks ep.
But also I always do question people’s taste when they complain about slow pacing considering most of the great cinema of the past is slower paced than this. It’s been well documented that the number of cuts of a show/movie has exponentially increased over the last 50 years and everything in general is way faster paced. So how much of it has to do with this shows “slow pacing” (which would still be faster paced than most works across the history of visual entertainment) feeling “glacial” and not with you just not being used to typical fast paced slop? Twin Peaks the Return is arguably the greatest show ever made and it features a 10 minute sequence of a dude just mopping up a floor and nothing else. Why is that not pointless but Carol taking 10 seconds to walk up to Joscia for a hug is?
