their default mode is amicable though, we haven't seen them display negative emotions outside of prompting from the survivors (carol & the crying/death, diabate having one roleplay a bond villain and having to correct them to stay in character when cheering). I don't think the point was to be like his mom since they were saying "we" but instead to be someone familiar to speak through
