Well yeah he pick weird ass beats. It was clear rules to the post Drake Kanye rap game and being a serious lyricist and he went out his way to pick trash ass beats lmaoo of course you sell 10k nigga

Him and chance was 2/3 of the next big 3 if they wanted it

Idk man. S06 has incredible production. That’s No ID right there.

And BFT was experimental af. I get not liking the beats but he was working with some pretty renowned talent on that. The problem is afterwords he pretty much just localized the producers and chose trash beats cuz he knew no one would care about the talent he was working with and the work that went into the music

I want to defend Vince, Dark Times was good, but that rock album does kinda justify people calling him uninspired. The vocals, lyrics and backing instrumentals were the absolute bare minimum for an album in that style.

Relistening now and I like it more than I did back then, a cool unique project

But for one this is more white people (understanding black people created house and electronic all that aside just perception wise in 2017 rap game) EDM leaning than Kanye being nigga industrial music. On sight/maybe new slaves is the "whitest" beat on there lol

He can drop what he wants but it's a no brainer this project kinda didn't crack into the "nigga" zeitgeist

Also Kanye was already Kanye with 4-5 classic albums which changes perception of Yeezus
