The album is 22mins long...repeat listens to "get it" aren't difficult. The album just not it.

then bye
do not come here if it finally clicks at some point tho
same hi hats on every single song except one. not even unique ones either, this the same s*** summer walker's last album had front to back too, and london made that LMFAO. at least with her you get singing and different pitches, this mf sound like a clear eyes commercial.
this is easily the worst album ive heard this year. vince sounds like hes snoring over every beat hes so f***ing boring.
dont compare this s*** to that classic r&b album at least London got some bounce wit his s*** these beats sound stiff

people aren't allowed to have a negative opinion?
who do you think you are lol

Y'all sensitive over people not liking this weed plate
I get what he was going for on this project. This is probably one of Vince most "vivid" albums in regards to the lyrics and storytelling. I only liked one song though. And I really have no desire to come back to this album.
you weren't even that negative and actually gave reasons for your opinion lol
fair enough people spamming "shit trash" is annoying and adds nothing but if you cant take a bit of gentle criticism for something you didnt make wowee cup of concrete and harden the f*** up

Come on man, I liked the album but what do you think that mindset's gonna achieve? I'll never understand being overprotective of an artist like this
I listened it four times already.
Fair. It's fascinating how subjective music is. I like every song. Vince’s best project is still his debut to me but I'm really enjoying this.

the only clicking this s*** doing is if i bought the physical and snapped it in half

not protective just stating those kind of opinions so early isnt quite smart
just give it a time and then come here and talk s***
To all the people that don't like this what is it exactly that you don't like?
The lyrics are great.
The production is great.
Are you wanting his more experimental-type beats?
A club banger?
I think it was a very safe play from Vince, also too short for it to be a self titled album. Maybe go for like a big fish theory length and show some more ambition. The highs ain't high enough, but there aren't any noticeable lows, very consistent, no skips and a nice lil project. I kinda expected more but comparing it to other releases this year it's pretty good. Maybe my opinion will change tho, only 2 listens in.

do you honor this all the time yourself? lol
don't the album threads usually have "first impressions" in the title when they drop, what we talkin bout here
you weren't even that negative and actually gave reasons for your opinion lol
Like this album is Vince very clearly reflecting on his upbringing and his time in the streets. Through his storytelling he paints a very bleek picture. The album puts you in Vince's shoes where death is around every corner, you can't trust anybody, it's a dog eat dog kinda environment he is describing. I get all that.
The production is boring to me, and the deadpan delivery for most of the album makes this 22min long album feel like a slog.
I'll just go back to Summertime 06, Big Fish Theory, or FM! S***, I'll throw on Winter In Prague because that gives me the same kinda vibe as this album except the production is way more interesting in my opinion.

saying something is "great" is subjective though
I just don't think it's very interesting, for mine the production is pretty flat. Never been a KB fan and probably never will
it's a cool little project but I wouldn't be hanging my hat on it as album tbh

I get this view. Still a solid project.

I feel ya. I would def like more of his experimental production if I could change something.
Perfect to me is no bad albums. They don't have to all be amazing, but they all have to hit atleast.
If we measured a "perfect discog" by all perfect albums then that simply doesn't exist for anyone then. Cuz everyone had albums that are "worse" then others by definition.
that’s why no one has a perfect discog lol

Him naming the album Vince Staples actually makes a lot of sense given the themes and transparency throughout the project. It's just boring.
First impressions are that everyone sounds bored on this. Vince. Kenny. Law of averages the most interesting track lyrically and production wise.
