One thing that @cats and i shared was our love for vinyl. except he was able to collect it and i could only dream of getting started. One that he bought months ago was a Carly Rae Jepsen 5th anniversary Emotions limited edition opaque pink vinyl and it just got my brain jogging. he has me somewhere where i can start doing the things i love like collect vinyl, make music, start painting again, anything i dreamed of doing. I want to start collecting vinyl, some that i love and add it to the collection that he started. i know my family will be like why buy it if you cant use it but that doesn't matter. i collect something i love and it has not only the value of the music that helped me get through stuff but actual worth in the vinyl too lmao. I already see the one that he just got have a worth of $95 already and it must have had some emotional meaning to him.

I dont have a record player either and wanna start collecting records, all I got so far is the Igor deluxe edition, and thats its so far lol. Got the same questions from my mom why the hell am I buying records. What records do ya want?

pretty expensive, but fun hobby of mine. records are pretty cool to own.

btw if your looking for essential records to own, that’s completely bullshit, and the only essentials you really need are the albums you absolutely love. that is if it’s not too expensive for you

first one i want to buy is how im feeling right now by charli xcx. that one has a song on there that means the world to me. i also want to start collecting like PATD and TOP vinyls bc their music saved my emotional well being when i was at an all time low. if by chance i run into an album with music i like, ill get it too, but those are the ones i want to collect as of right now.

honestly i dont even know, the tattoo i got is my first one. its a symbol for @cats, we used to have a set of rings we would wear with these deer antlers on them and we would wear them anytime we went out together. we also said that we loved each other infinitely, so i got a tattoo of an infinity symbol with the antlers as a part of them. the artist filled it in with a hint of yellow because that was both our favourite colour.

the real s*** is finding something for under like 15-20 thats a really good album or something

a lot of times its like mid-tier older albums on vinyl that are cheapest (obviously) but sometimes they get way marked down due to a minor damage on the vinyl jacket/cover

yeah i have a turntable, it belonged to cats, and im intrigued by his taste in music. any albums he has that are sealed are going to stay that way but there are some that are open so when i feel like it i throw one on the table and listen to it. his taste in music feels quite nostalgic

im sure you’ve heard of discogs before, check that site for some good deals on records, or a local record shop if you got one (which i’m pretty sure you do lol)

YEAH thats what i noticed for sure, i wouldnt mind getting an album thats opened or slightly damaged if its one that i would use, but i would most likely get a duplicate in mint condition for the collectible value. i actually plan on finding a sealed version of the yellow edition trench vinyl album that cats got for me, so hopefully ill be able to find that somewhere.
