Houston rapper Viper, whose given name is Lee Carter, was charged Wednesday with the kidnapping and sexual assault of a second woman, court records show.

According to the criminal complaint, Carter, 52, abducted and held the second victim captive on or about July 14, 2021, with the intent to violate and sexually abuse her. Court records show the sexual assault occurred ten days after the kidnapping.

Last April, Houston police were called to Carter's home after a woman texted 911 and said she was being held against her will, a criminal complaint said. Officers said when they arrived at the home, they pried open the garage door and discovered a woman who looked "extremely malnourished" and "filthy," according to court documents. Officers also found a makeshift toilet that did not work, a mattress covered with "fresh vomit," a box of chips, a few Twinkies, and diapers.

The woman told police that Carter had abducted her four or five years ago after he approached her on the street while she was pregnant and panhandling and promised to help her. Instead, she told law enforcement that he drove them back to his home and locked her up in his garage. She was kept for years in the garage and told police she was forced to have s***with Carter, who fed her d****, including crack cocaine. On one occasion, the woman was able to break through the garage window and crawl out of the structure, only to be taken to the hospital by police and released back to Carter. After this escape, Carter allegedly boarded up the interior of the garage window and threatened her with physical assault if she attempted to leave again.

An Arkansas-born, Houston-raised recording artist, Carter is best known for his homemade album covers and provocative project names. His 2008 album You'll Cowards Don't Even Smoke Crack has risen to cult notoriety since its release, and screenshots of the work and other Viper tapes continue to be leveraged as memes on social media.

Carter has been in Harris County jail since January 25 for the previous kidnapping charges.
