People talk a lot about market data and industry tracking on this site, especially stuff like billboard and record label manipulation. I’m heading on a quick work trip over to Nielsen’s main offices next week and probably have enough time to ask them any questions people here have.
Whether it’s on album sales tracking or any general industry data or similar I can probably ask it within reason and get a decent answer as they’re still one of the primary market research companies across industries. Also includes possible questions about other media industries like movies, etc.

I think this actually might be because the billboard part of Nielsen was bought out by a different company so their tracking is all proprietary/commercial now minus what’s chosen to be revealed. I can ask though

Nielsen does tv ratings to so ask them about that part as well. Like we can see the billboard pure sales for any point in time but not for Nielsen sales/ratings

Ask them when are they gonna stop counting songs that artist made 1-2 years ago trying to add it to an album just for streaming sells purposes….that s*** shouldn’t count 100%

I didn’t say covert or anything lol. I have time to talk with employees there as I’m not just in and out so I have time to ask relevant and not confidential type questions people are curious about. I’ve done it before at other companies, these aren’t like military bases lol
