something I've wanted to do for a while.
pros? cons? considerations?
so far
: no talking
: no texting
: no captions or posting on socials, only observation
exceptions
: allowed to communicate by writing something down on paper
: only allowed to speak in front of a microphone(possibly also expanding it to no freestyling_only lyrics written)
-
plan to do this for at least a year_2021 and possibly further if beneficial
What do you gain from this? Not trying to be funny either.
-inner peace
-increased focus and less distraction
-get in touch with my true self, instead of taking the energy of people around me

Gotcha. Why not then? I can’t see myself doing this but if you think it’ll benefit you why not
you want to do this for a year
better to do an intensive 14 day experiment, look up Vipassana retreats
I try and do this for a couple days every year. Sometimes I'll just go camping and do it so I'm not a 'burden' on others and can truly sit in the silence.
That’s cool and I can see the benefits and beauty in seeking silence, I just wonder why you go so far to restrict yourself. Like the Travis barker Video above where he says the guy that did this doesn’t laugh out loud. Aren’t you there restricting something that is already there in the present moment. You basically take your way of expressing yourself based upon a natural urge in the moment like laughing. Like why not just seek silence and limit your contact but still allow yourself to laugh or even talk for the time where you decide to not seek silence and be around people?
I read a book about this a long time ago, I was probably like 8-10years, and it just sounded so nonsensical...but that it's just me so do you op.
somebody told op stfu and he took it to heart
"You really want that?! 😡 I'm gonna shut up for a year 😤"
Genuine question why quote this now if OP answered like 3 posts down
this is fire kinda regret not continuing attack on titan after season 2 was f***in mid and confusing

Oh nah, Season 2 slow but it has one of the greatest moments in anime history. The build up to that moment is necessary imo. How much did you watch of Season 2? The anime is insane rn i’d honestly hop right back on, binge watch the rest of the show ( Season 3 is fire, some very crazy revelations ). It’s worth it, it’ll probably be top 5 or even top 3 oat after the show ends. I know i might seem like i’m overhyping it but it’s so amazing rn. Highly recommend watching the show.
