I've been hyper obsessive about this area lately (particularly augmented reality) and think it could use it's own thread
There are a couple devices on the market currently and a well supported platform for developers
used to think vr was a gimmick until i actually tried it. it's still a little clunky though but i'll cape for it

yeah you can never really understand the hype until you try it for yourself
there are still major issues with price point, size/usability, and motion sickness, but these can be ironed out
I think AR is where the real potential lies though currently

lol i got rid of my rift s before this was released. i've played boneworks and the walking dead game, and flying around in google maps was cool but i could only play 30 minutes at a time before it gave me a headache.
