009That album especially with where I am in my life with my attitude towards consumption and capitalism (not that I'd ever look to a Ye album for a good take on anything of the sort) the lyrics are almost grating to listen to. The objectification, the verses that don't thematically go anywhere, the constant self aggrandizing.
In his old music those things were a means to a end of legitimately great art but now it just feels like he's taking those same concepts but lacking the genuine creative vision.
It has its moments though but not enough to save the whole thing.

I do wonder if on his inevitable solo after vultures 3 he gets back to that but I think vultures series is necessary for him to get out after recent years
