Bloated album
lol its got 2 versions of some songs you can always customize
the highs are the highs
I’m not comparing any album to any album
Every ye albums is almost any other artists best album imo
True. I think the controversy is what makes people not admit that
I hate that Donda is mentioned with Jesus is King and Ye
they are all good but Donda had so much work put into it man and it gets slandered on here
Major opus for sure
People retroactively acting like Donda wasn't good is crazy to me
I get not liking Ye but Donda and its message is fire. Donda 2 and doing a sequel to an album that meaningful using your moms name again should have never been a thought in his mind though
only problem with Donda is that it's too long
he could have split the entire Donda + Deluxe tracks (non-pt2. songs) in 2 albums and make it Donda and Donda 2, whatever we got with D2 should have just been a mixtape of b-sides or something like that
I’m not gonna let this historical revisionism happen. Those albums were hated on hard by casual listeners when they were released.
I know, but they were never that jarring (to me)
Just took a left turn sonically & that's about it.
Ye was on his A-game for both.
But when I heard the a****** line over that God tier soul sample for the first time on "Pablo", I was like
Cause for "Yeezus" & "808s" those were cohesive & were meant to sound a certain way.
"Pablo" was a mix of everything (which I didn't mind) but his lyrics were so ass, I couldn't help to be like
Then after that we got "ye" & "JIK" which are half assed & forgettable
"Donda" which is waaaaaaaay too bloated & was carried by features.
But with "Vultures", It feels like we're heading back on track.
Haven't been THIS happy over a Ye project since "Yeezus"
I love "Pablo" now, but it's feels like we got Ye back to his old s***, but a modern twist now.
Donda is great for what it is, of course it's a little bit too bloated but I don't really mind it

always thought donda 2 should have been named after kim or virgil. one of the biggest tragedies in his discography, maybe even the biggest, that album should have been one of his most significant but it was the victim of troubled circumstances.
Lmaooo you definitely weren’t outside when those albums dropped then because people HATED them
Nooo bro, you don't know what I'm saying.
I know people shat on them then, but they're undeniable now.
I think Ye began to get sloppy (as an artist) during the Pablo era is all.

I feel bad for people who just stream everything because you don't get to customize your albums. Donda was just another TLOP than I got to rejigger into the best version for me.
People will say ye albums are bloated or forgettable or whatever but will praise some random underground or rateyourmusic rap album or whatever like there’s no tomorrow

Pablo seemed like a masterpiece on first listen for me and the a****** bleach line was no worse than put my fist in her like a civil rights sign

exactly this including different listening party versions
lol no one can tell me s***
Bloated with ye isnt a problem because he gives you all the ingredeients

I mean on streaming you can still make a playlist and make your own order. I did that with Utopia but never came back to it as the songs don't really call on my attention.
In the case of Donda, I don't dislike any song, it just gets too long.
Imagine ending the album with New Again and starting D2 with a song like Up From the Ashes
@pussy_bacon @BAMSKI_backshots @WaltDisneyOG SAVE THE THREAD WHAT ARE U DOING WAKE UP
It’s over. I don’t have the energy anymore.
Lock thread. Ban us all.

TLOP is top 3 they not listening
ktt2 should host a live q n a with John Monopoly & @YoungNastyShawty
This would be interesting to see before the release of vultures 2
It could be a good introduction to the fans, having someone was there since the beginning
you could also talk about Violator, Kai call & things of that nature
Kanye got himself and everyone he hit up for this album so deep in their bag it’s insane
