there are def. like 2 kinds of metalcore

the older kind like Converge thats less melodic and the kind like Killswitch Engage that has melodic choruses which is where the hate and the stereotypes of the genre came from (but theres still a lot of good bands in that style too)

if you say "metalcore" to most people they dont think of Converge or even know thats also metalcore

kind of an annoying genre name

It's downtown is small but everything is right next to each all the clubs/bars and stores

So you can literally just bar and club hop on 4 streets walking and it also looks cool, they also have some legit gems - they also have a cool concert hall called the Rialto

Rest of the place is alright, one of my siblings live out there so I'm there time to time

Downtown is modern but the rest of the place is like a mix of cowboy rural and medium ish urban town - it's segregated af outside of downtown lmao

I think people become very invested in that type of thing

Its like a whole subgenre specific scene they become a part of. All of their friends and free time is based on it.
