WELCOME TO THE VZ PLANNER THREAD: A GUIDE FOR NEW USERS

WHAT THIS PLACE IS
Started September 2022 as a thread for planning VZ battles (two artists, song vs song, the thread votes).
2,500,010 posts and 100,000 pages later, it's mostly a chat thread. VZs are rare now.
Reality check: last year, only a handful of brand-new posters stuck around. Getting in takes effort. Here's how.

HOW TO GET NOTICED (this is from the actual numbers)

• Write a real sentence. Posts under 15 characters get ignored 38% of the time. Posts of 60-200 characters get twice the replies.
• Tag people. Posts with an @ get the most likes of anything and are only ignored 10% of the time.
• Ask questions. Ending with a question gets you about 30% more replies.
• Have a take. Longer posts (200+ characters) get the most replies of all. People here love to argue.
• Show up between 6 and 10pm Eastern. That's when the thread is busiest and replies come fastest. Posting at 5am is posting into the void.
• Talk music. It's still the thread's common language.

WHO'S WHO (the regulars)
Kodak Spice: the most posts in thread history (230k+). Asks a lot of questions. Answer them.
Camille: the thread's center. Opinions delivered as verdicts. Almost every post he makes gets a reply.
HNDRXX: Future's biggest fan alive. Camille's other half.
Bruises: dry, sharp, disagreeable on purpose. The most people reply to her.
ET: the main character. Loves an argument. Don't take it personally.
Tuneout: says goodnight, doesn't leave. "oh ya."
JACKIE/COWBOY ARTIST: R&B, Prince, Madonna, and chaos, in formal English.
rvi: quiet, dry, deep music taste.
bmass (wey): Drake guy turned Kendrick lister. Learning Spanish.
CutiePieHole: Tinashe, Pokemon, typos, good vibes.
Kdogone: new OP. Most-liked poster in the thread. Be nice to him.
fuego: the nicest guy here. Canadian.
Sizzy (dawn), early (BIG), Stankie, UncMC, Orangutan, frenchpress, Purrp, Nort, FBG LIIIIT, Echi: all regulars, all worth knowing.
Mods: SAB (bans people for gif choices) and BM_ (argues with ET).

GLOSSARY
VZ: a Verzuz battle between two artists
Rep: the person arguing for one side in a VZ
Host: runs the VZ
OP: whoever runs the thread
Stickers: = lmao, = side-eye, = I see what you did
"u fw": do you like it (Kodak's catchphrase, 291 uses)
"huge W", "oh ya": Tuneout
"free herbthot": a long story. Just say it.

HOW THE CULTURE WORKS

• Insults here are mostly affection. The average fight is over in about 6 minutes. Don't leave over one.
• The thread loves Drake and Kanye, mostly likes Kendrick, and is secretly obsessed with Madonna. J. Cole is the one big name people are against.
• Everyone has a gimmick. Find yours, but don't force it.
• Don't ask if the thread is dead. It's been "dying" for four years.

DON'TS

• Don't spam one-word posts. You'll be ignored.
• Don't post anyone's real-life info. Not yours, not theirs. Ever.
• Don't ask Bruises about rvi.
• Don't bring up the comic club. It died. We don't talk about it.
