This man literally funded his venture off of money he received from fans who purchased expensive merchandise that he still hasn’t shipped
It’s so disgusting talking about how you read luxury magazines seeing things you couldn’t afford and talking down on that condition, only to open a firm that literally pursues the same business point of artificial pricing. You couldn’t even address the trouble you’ve caused your fan base but instead talk about how you only don’t own a yacht because you get seasick.
There’s absolutely no regard for the people who came and gave you this platform of acclaim
His journey into what he calls “hard goods” began with a stint of bohemian DIY in LA in 2019, when he moved a group of 20 craftsmen friends into his house for his “Summit”, a secretive collective dedicated to developing designs. The house was virtually empty, surrounded by an expanse of land. Ocean’s concept was to use the time for experimentation: “We had everyone from horticulturalists to electrical engineers and architects, carpenters and metalworkers. We made tables and chairs, wired the lighting, then started working on other things for the house.”
This entire artistic process seems to be a delusional and frivolous exercise in materialism that’s only furthered by the fact that he totally jipped his extremely dedicated fan base on things that they bought from him
And the entire artificial expensiveness of this HOMER s*** is even more disgusting. How do you do this stuff knowing your audience will not be those who came to you when you released nostalgia ULTRA or Channel ORANGE but rather rich snobs who have nothing better to spend their money on than lab grown diamonds.
It’s like there’s a level of greed being satiated in this business move and not an artistic desire. The pieces aren’t even anything worth writing home about and are a total derivative of KAWS and Murikami and Nigo’s work
Felt like I was going crazy seeing everyone hype about it. I’m glad he’s doing well for sure but also like it’s not for us (us being fans of Frank lol). Real ass post
I didn't really care. I knew it would arrive whenever it arrived. And it did, so no issue.
But if it didn't, why not email them (@ people who never received their order)?
And take a year to refund like ur jcole s***? F*** that scummy s***
Op, Frank Ocean has never been an anti capitalist. At the end of the day he’s still a “third way” Democrat.
What he’s doing is scummy but I’m still gonna listen to his music the same way I still listen to Jay Z and Kanye even though they most definitely have child slavery somewhere in their supply chains
This isn’t some political thread dude I don’t care about any of that this is about accountability and disingenuousness
Let Frank extend through this new venture
This is a great move for him, and the interview was super insightful.
Imagine a dude owes u money for 2 years and then he opens up a store
This isn’t some political thread dude I don’t care about any of that this is about accountability and disingenuousness
So remove this from op

dorks like op mad
cry more bum ass nigga
Can u afford a 400k necklace?
Imagine a dude owes u money for 2 years and then he opens up a store
Imagine u go to ur favorite family owned restaurant and order a pan of lasagna to cater for tomorrow but they don’t hit you back for like two weeks even though you paid and when you finally show up again they’ve rebranded as a fois gras spot w $600 dishes and don’t know what lasagna ur talking about, knowing damn well they took ur money
Frank washed lmao bruh turning into Rocky
Rocky always been a realer nigga than Frank tbh
How do you know the money he got from merch funded this venture?
It don’t even matter as long as the nigga has spent the money in general it’s finesse
Genuinely so glad people are starting to actually speak up about this. I love Frank Ocean and his music is on another level, but the guy has no respect for his fans and has been taking advantage of them for YEARS. You don't have to "care" about your fans or anything, but there's a difference between doing what you want and actively taking advantage of people that look up to you.
At least Kanye actually puts stuff out even if he's constantly changing his mind/overpromising.
Rocky always been a realer nigga than Frank tbh
Rocky ain’t never do no s*** like this
And still fastest NA car ever
s***s god level
Getting to drive a Mclaren F1 on a race track with like a special appointment or some s*** needs to be a real thing at like Disney Land or some s*** tbh.
Can u afford a 400k necklace?
yes
Double ya dollars or fuk up. He owes you nothing
I just don’t understand how this made Super Rich Kids and does this, weird character development arc
was listening to super rich kids this morning thinking of the irony
i can’t afford that s***e. i’m glad he’s back but it’s a little odd
It don’t even matter as long as the nigga has spent the money in general it’s finesse
Do we even know how much money he made from the merch?
Or is it just another assumption made
Fans have been defending Frank while he's been doing financial manipulation of desperate fans for YEARS. It used to be if you spoke up about it, people would attack you for not trusting him
It's extremely telling that before this, for about a year, BOTH of the stickied threads in the /r/FrankOcean subreddit were about forcing Frank's company to send refunds for a canceled, non-existent vinyl.
Fans had to force a refund to happen for something they bought that got canceled.
You can't make this s*** up
