Godzilla vs Kong
The Suicide Squad
Dune
Matrix 4
Only WB movies I’ll be seeing in a theater next year I guess
u think this increases or decreases chance of dune pt 2 getting made
It might help it bc if it flops, we won’t be able to say if it’s a definitive flop or not with split streams of interest and income for the movie (streaming and cinemas)
Whereas if it straight up flopped in regular non pandemic cinemas, we’d know it didn’t do well and won’t get any sequels from clear undivided box office numbers
Indie theaters (in big cities at least) should be fine. But the no. of independent movies being delivered to those theaters will continue to decrease because they will be gobbled up by the big streaming services.
I live in Cincinnati and the indie theater by me got movies like Mank and The Sound of Metal before they hit streaming, just praying it survives this
Imagine choosing to watch Uncut Gems for the first time at home
I watched it in the theater but would have been fine seeing it at home. Some of my most memorable film experiences were things I saw on a phone, laptop, or on a plane
And I go to the cinema far more than the average person lmao

Honestly really happy I saw Sound of Metal in theatres, I would see Mank and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom too if it wasn't the worst right now

Did this and it was great
Yall gotta relax with this "watching movies at home is whack" narrative
Disney can throw s*** like Jungle Cruise or Cruella and s*** to streaming. But for cinemas sake I hope they keep some big stuff for them

if i’m watching a movie at home i’m more likely to check my phone while watching, being in a theater forces me to give it my full attention
What will be the consequence for European theaters? Will it be the same?
Didn't read the links itt because i don't have the time rn but are all the releases moving to TV having effects on how long theaters will show the films, or how many?

You need to break that habit
Leave your phone in another room or some s***

30 days on HBO Max in the US, removed after that time
Normal theatrical to home media window will continue from there
For Europe it’s gonna be normal, but I think WW84 is going PVOD after 30 days

Idk how its gonna be in Europe cause I don't think you guys have Max, but its gonna be simultaneously in theatres and on Max for a month, then leaves Max and stays in theatres until it would normally come out on VOD

what a random film to pick lmao
there's like a million titles i'd rather see on a huge screen before seeing Uncut Gems. I was fine watching it on my TV
Dune gonna hit hard on my big ass TV screen while I'm smacked eating the food I ordered from doordash.
