Feel like he was a decade too early
If he was just coming out now he would be one of the biggest rappers on earth.
The skills, the look, the personality. Shoot him and Riff Raff should be way bigger than they are.
Bro was cosplaying as Ghostface Killah how was he ahead of his time
up: For the record I think Action can rap and is funny I was bullshittin a lil
He was literally just GFK. If anything he was behind his time rapping like a guy from a past era
riff raff could only exist in the era he came up in
riff shouldve been bigger tho he was a legitimately good rapper and was able to get in rooms with the right people he just shot himself in the foot
Hard to say. Obviously not musically but maybe the public figure/meme thing
Idk, in a lot of ways he was very of his time and reached a unique place
That whole late blog era with Vice giving him the tv show was kind of his ultimate ceiling and made him borderline household name
I mean maybe he would be a big tiktok chef rapper today? But I’m not sure. His throwback sound coupled with the humorous persona is just quintessential blog era
maybe bronson would’ve been bigger today because there’s less competition amongst rappers rappers but he got pretty big and was able to make a name for himself to be successful outside of music

The whole blog era was paying homage to the 90s, I think the Ghostface comparison is reductive
It’s mainly the vocal tone. Action had an identity as a lyricist and with beat selections, he wasnt just a ghost clone. People saying this probably barely listen to ghost lol their work is pretty different, with Action being way more eclectic and almost post modern
Ghost hinted at some post modernism with his lyrics but Action took that to a different level, which was kind of the mood of the blog era

as a big ghostface fan they’re pretty different
Riff Raff is a great rapper
they prolly just see the sway freestyle and base it off that he has great melodies too
The style of action Bronson always came off as just timeless classic type hip hop to me
We had gfk before him and Griselda/adjacent rappers after him
Everyone says Action is just Ghostface but no one ever got on Joey Badass for being so derivative lol just because there’s not as easy of a vocal comparison
Joey was sounding like Mos Def joining Wu Tang
as a big ghostface fan they’re pretty different
On a surface level is what I meant

In tone, flow, and influence. From content and beat selection they couldn’t be anymore different. I get that. My overall point is on a surface level, she was just GFK 2.0 which wasn’t pushing the envelope further or ahead of anything. None of the blog era rappers outside of the cool kids and maybe lil b as far as him being a blueprint were really ahead of their time and that’s fine they didn’t need to be.
he wouldn't be one of the biggest rappers if he was coming up today lmao
if anything he'd end up the same way dudes like crimeapple did -- kinda being able to sustain himself in the underground but only that
perfectly of his time
dont think any part of his career across music and tv would have the same impact if it happened now
Nah he was perfect for the early 2010s blog era sound. I think him starting to produce himself and make more psych leaning projects as of recent was the right direction for him to not make his sound stale post-blog era

I feel you. I might argue Actions flow is different too, and generally less “active” than Ghosts; Ghost raps faster and uses more rhyme schemes and less space, Action is a little more parred down and easy to understand, almost pulling some conversational influence from the post-Jay Z flow era rather than Ghostface’s run on post-Nas flow
But I get you. Wouldn’t really say he was ahead of his time either
Forum posters always s***ting on
Action for sounding like Ghost
or
Droog for sounding like Nas
for like a decade.
