A house in front of mine there was a traveler in a AirBnB I was was helping shovel out for a couple hours to get on the road because we got like 2 feet of snow and the local roads didn't get shoveled by the city trucks yet

But eventually I realized his tires had 0 traction and were completely smooth so I gave him and his girl two cups of tea and preceded to shovel my car out

I feel if I countiued to help him I would give him false hope and waste both our time and and energies

i feel like that was a good decision. nobody should feel bad for not going out of their way and inconveniencing themselves to help a stranger. you got your own life to live
