I think both. He was always religious so it was authentic. But having religious fixations is a symptom and common delusion, it happened to me! But I still have a strong faith, regardless of that. But a doctor would have to confirm that, this is just speculation. Everything everyone is saying about people judging him harshly for being « flawed » or changing perspectives is right regardless.
