When Nicki got dissed by Lil Kim and Remy Ma they both made her look stupid and kinda exposed that had Nicki came up in their generation she might not have lasted all that long. Lucky for her she was built for the 2010s and Lil Kim and Remy Ma were pretty much done at that point in their careers musically.

It was. There are plenty of songs on the album that are pop oriented (Check On It, Super Bass, I’m The Best, Fly etc.,)

Nicki was only on top because she was one of the hardest rappers out for a minute (and she’s bad as hell). Nicki is/was incredible musically her competition was all rappers not just women

Op is half right. Nicki got big because of there was no female competition in 2009, the Wayne stimulus, and her look. But, she was also blew because she knew how to rap and make hits.
