He and Peep made good emo rap. I know Peep didn't like him, but who cares. I don't think it's fair to call it ass. It was an era and either you f***ed with or you didn't. X was also tied into the Raider clan scene with Denzel, so he was understandably a big South Florida rapper
Uncle this ragebait is weak imo. He has many songs with many streams.
my bad, many streams is the decider of how great an artist is you right.

Paramore
I feel like his come up is pretty organic if you were following but also I think their careers and untimely deaths align right when streaming was getting more payola dominated / label inflated from its initial breakout in 2015/2016.
I have no real proof to back this up but people like X and Juice and Peep earning so many records/streams posthumously and the amount of music but out by their labels post-death kind of makes me think a lot of their views/numbers post-death are inflated
But pre-death it’s as organic as any other artist at his trajectory
i still lnow ppl that swear he was gonna be leader of new gen
It was that eras internet underground
Now it’s these randoms yall post like Nine Vicious lol
Emo rap had previously been the territory of white boys from Minneapolis who used words like petrichor and were lyrical miracle.
XXX just gave that dysfunction a James Dean sheen with his smattering of half finished snippets and face tattoos. Peep also helped take over that category by having listened to Nirvana once prior to entering a recording booth.
he never reached his peak, you could say the same for tyler the creator in his early years, but now look where he is
He definitely peaked in popularity and success, he never peaked musically bc he never had it like that
my bad, many streams is the decider of how great an artist is you right.

I'm ngl you have 0 idea about anything music if you think juice wrld wasn't supremely talented at making music
My 13 year old little cousin would agree
sounds like the name of a dominican fragrance. triple x tentacion
XXXtentacion was able to gain a fanbase because the combination of his songs and how he carried himself really connected with both the white boys that punch walls and curse their mothers out AND connected to black kids that did this

Time will tell what's worse
I remember a small handful of people saying he was the new cudi
I dated a mom once who had elementary school aged kids who said her kids would request sad among other songs because their mom would play it around them
One of the many red flags that's said nah I'm good
google his uncle
He was a dope artist. Y’all trippin

That's cool man.
S*** was still ass.
Doing violent/weird s*** to women is bad.
but X also was finna be one of them ones. He mixed everything in rap up until that point and had for better or worse a lot of unpredictability in his backstory/persona and trajectory in his career/musically. It was a recipe for a megastar

Why didn’t peep like him?
bro fell for the psyop
In retrospect my respect was a Psyop Ranger
Never listened to him but his music was responsible for one of the greatest youtube videos ever
