I hopped on the alkaline water trend a few years ago like in 2016, and honestly it’s overrated.
It is smoother and easier to drink than decent quality spring water, but it’s lacking many natural nutrients and it also goes through you so fast that you don’t absorb enough of it for hydration.
I’m starting to appreciate spring waters a lot more now. I feel more hydrated and I’m not running to pee every hour.
Alkaline water hits better in summer when you are sweating anyways, so you don’t have to pee as much.
