i think the books are outside of the timeframe i listed but we can expand it to 70 years . 1950 seems like a good cutoff

Self explanatory, this man has achieved something no person could ever do in the next 100 years. He was that big, he was that good.
These guys are always re-inventing how 3D graphics/rendering are made/showcased and are always pushing the envelope for tech. A lot of s*** that you see on movies, advertising, games... anything that has 2D/3D graphics on it, these guys had their fingerprints on it. They dont got to show it off but anyone who knows, knows.

Word, my bad ab the timeframe, I was thinking about the movies first but the books are so monumental as well that I thought they deserved a mention.
I’d say peep the movies and if you like them and want a more nuanced take of the world, then you should read the books. That might be blasphemy to a purist but I feel like putting the books first could be similar to recommending an extended director’s cut before you’ve even seen the theatrical release; there’s a lot of relatively superfluous detail that gets streamlined by the movies. They really are the gold standard for a film adaptation though
