What really makes it a classic?

And it aint even fire like fly in & c2 & fly out

I've never really got it with the Wayne albums being classics, even albums like Carter 2 and 3. They have some great songs of course.

The thing is I never listened to him while he was making those albums, so it might be that they haven't aged too well? Also I'm based in the UK where he didn't have the same cultural impact

It's plain English, shouldn't be hard to understand.

lmaoo if people consider albums like Word Of Mouf, TM101, Trap Muzik and King a classics then Carter 1 is a classic also

No idea what you are on about tbh. Because I don't see C2 and C3 as classics I'm a meme?? Anyway I'm not gnna derail the thread. I'm gonna listen to Like Father Like Son

They are pioneer albums of Trap music, brought a new style to mainstream and had big impact & influence on Rap music to this day

There wasnt a new fresh sound on Carter 1. Maybe if Wayne didnt have other big albums before you could make a case but thats not it either

No reason to call c1 a classic, only a NO classic

That's all fair. Honestly for Wayne's run a lot of it was based on just having to be there, being of the culture and all that. If you have an appreciation for clever or humorous wordplay and punchlines there's definitely a lot to enjoy about him.

He's got great projects, but he has also dropped some absolutely putrid projects as well.
