So places sell sashimi grade fish

Its fish thats flash frozen to a certain temp to kill the bacteria and parasites

Tho tbh ive made poke w whole foods fresh fish but i eat it within 24 hrs of buying it
Its not recommended but ive had no bad repercussions

U can get sushi/sashimi grade fish at japanese grocery stores

• katagiri, sunrise, etc in nyc

Or specialty fishmongers

• yum yum fish in sf
• okonomi market in ny

But they own samis kebab house next door which does serve afghan cooking all year

Ok u know how i made a post a while back on a ton of new restaurant openings being rehashings of carbone

I realized carbone is in itself a rehashing of lavo in vibe and food aesthetic
And lavo is just the italian version of tao/buddakan

Hence its just the same demographic that used to go to tao/lavo moving on to a less nightclubby version of the same spots theyve been going to

went to güd güd pop up at honeys in brooklyn last night cause my friends are friends w them. we ordered pretty much everything on the menu (wings, steak rice, chirashi bowl, salad) was all pretty good.
