dashi okume was doing an oden omakase thing for march
oden wise, was equiv to yopparai's oden in terms of being like.... bougee ass f***ing oden lol (but v good)
my best attept at recollecting:
1. pickled horse mackerel sashimi from toyosu market w pickles
2. simmered 5 hr daikon (so good), green stuff is shungiku (i f***ing hate shungiku, its a rly healthy tasting herb), egg, homemade fishcake
3. burdock root top left, shiitake mushroom, lotus root, taro, fu/wheat gluten balls (japanesetaste.com/products/miyamura-shibata-fu-japanese-dried-wheat-gluten-10-pcs look at this for an idea of texture maybe?? its rly soft/squishy/spongy. its in chinese cooking too, ppl stuff it w ground pork n simmer it, its what i always imagine the spirited away dad eats when he eats that blobby thing. some variety of it is seitan but seitan sucks n this doesnt), then a shrimp fish cake in the middle
4. another shrimp fishcake
5. ochazuke
6. i forget but like.... green grape sorbet or something like that
i liked it but wldnt do it again, but i did like that it was fully pescatarian n therefore halal
lastly
karszma -- polish pierogi -- the dough wrapper was kinda thick n it was light on toppings, but the filling was tasty.
beer braised ham hock--rly salty tbh
grill plate for 2 w kielbasa, pork sausage (super unqiue, way more soft n mushy than any other blood sausage ive had + more heavily spiced), pork shoulder, chicken, salmon, bacon. salmon n chicken werent good (2 dry) but we killed the other stuff. in the back is hunters stew cooked w red wine (just a lot of cabbage n some pork)

i liked it more than polish/ukrainain/russian red borscht, but homemade chinese borscht is >>>>>>>>>
it was p unique but rly creamy and still had a borscht tang/sweetness. no beets tho. lots of kielbasa chunks inside
overall my fave thing was the mashed potatoes (they have fantastic mashed potatoes that come w the borscht) and the borcht.
i think overall it was reallllllly salty and heavy
id probs do just the borscht
or just like a cabbage roll next time
these plates are hella hefty
we had crazy leftovers
