bro this new location is literally in the middle of nowhere. had to drive for ten minutes thru some
old ass town w nothing but like stores for crafstmen and like old ass diners made out of wood boards n s*** and then i had to drive another like 10 min thru nothing but green hills and farms and cows and then her bakery (trailer) just on the side of the road at this tiny farmers market in the middle of all these green hills.
s*** like opening a bakery in the middle of the i5 freeway lmfso
also everyone in line was like over the age of 60 lmfso
nothing new except for the buttermilk strawberry pie. soft open so she only had half a menu.
went to maison benoit again earlier this week as well
usual suspects
cream puff w pearl sugar (so f***ing good could eat a bag of these)
apple pastry (was mid. only got it cause itβs one of the more popular items)

1. left 3, starting clockwise from bottom: lemon yuzu cake, ???, breton.
2. right 4, starting clocwise from bottom right: rosemary scone, matcha sable, black sesame madeleine, blueberry lavender cake

the cakes were rly tender but not special special
the breton was rly good, sim to canele
sable good but its just a matcha sable
rosemary scone not good at all (rly dense and wayyyy too salty)

casa ora 4 venezuelan (michelin guide rec)
clockwise from bottom:
1. hallaca - pork tamale with chickpea, potato, raisin & olive... kinda mid imo i fl like they skimped on the pork n so it was just raisins and bell peppers
2. shredded beef empanada - this was really good, rly flavorful empanda.... honestly a top tier empanada
3. mandocas - corn doughnuts with queso blanco & nata... this was not as good as i expected but just a nice little corn fritter ig... like a corn dog w/o the dog
4. seared chicken breast with crispy coconut rice dulce, corn, sofrito & scallion - the rice was so f***ing good holy s*** its like creamy sweet savory 12/10 rice
5. the $14 arepa w just meat -- honestly the meat was really good i just wish it had other s*** on it lmao..... i added my own avocado. with toppings tho its really good. idk if it beats arepera guacuco tho at least they give u other s*** on top

The Midas touch
Preciate it
Two raspberry pistachio croissants
Chocolate caramel croissant
Chocolate Berry Tart
Strawberry Pistachio Tart
Two macadamia and one chocolate chip cookies
Raspberry croissants were amazing, worth running it back for those alone
Chocolate caramel croissant was still great for the croissant itself but I wasn't the biggest fan of the fillings
Both tarts had great bodies/shells but I wish the fruit fillings had stronger flavors, toppings/icing were cool but this kind of reminded me that I'm not the biggest fan of icing sometimes
Cookies were just aight
