Has anyone here chopped their garlic for a pasta like they do in Goodfellas with a straight razor so it’s thin enough to melt in the sauce or is that just a meme

i’m p sure just mincing it real fine gets the same effect of infusing the oil, i don’t think it actually melts no matter how thin you get it

even whole garlic will eventually “melt” if it’s cooked down enough in some kind of liquid base. Maybe melt is the wrong word but it def gets soft enough to the point where you can mush and blend it into the sauce w a couple stirs from a spoon/spatula
